Ingredients
- 600 ml Whole or Semi Skimmed Milk
- 60 grams Unsalted Butter
- 3 tbsp Plain Flour
- 5 rashes Bacon (unsmoked or smoked)
- 1 handful Kale
- 300 grams Cheddar Cheese Grated
- 100 grams Parmesan Cheese Grated
- 500 grams Macaroni Pasta
Instructions
- Bring a large pan of water to a boil for the pasta
- Turn on the grill to high heat
- Melt the butter in a medium-sized saucepan
- Once the butter has melted stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute
- Add the pasta to the boiling water and boil for 10 minutes. When there are 4 minutes to go add the Kale to the pan.
- Start grilling the bacon. For crispy bacon, I usually grill the bacon for 4 minutes on each side
- Continue on from step 4 and add the milk to the saucepan. Start whisking away until there are no lumps and the sauce starts thickening this usually takes 5 minutes on a medium heat
- Turn off the heat and then add half the cheddar cheese and half the parmesan cheese in with the sauce string occasionally for 5 minutes.
- Drain the pasta and then transfer it to an oven dish then add the sauce in with the pasta and give it a stir
- Cut or pull apart the bacon into small pieces and then add it to the oven dish and stir in.
- Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top of the pasta
- Grill for 10 minutes or until the top is nice and crispy then serve and enjoy.
